Unless you've been living under a rock you know about this.
It is, of course, great news. But it is also a time for the instant revisionism of the right.
Most of the past week I've been seeing blogs and Tweets by conservatives, including prominent ones like Michelle Malkin, brutally critiquing the Obama administration's supposed "limp-wristed"-ness (I'm quoting) on the hostage standoff. They have gone so far as… Continue

Here's a quick note re today's show in the new IGMR in FOCUS "serious" format (we are still on tomorrow same time/place as always in the "traditional" format).
Joining me here tonight at 6 PM EST will be my good friend and web industry "icon" Jeffrey Zeldman. Jeff is very intelligent, funny, and has a number of… Continue

*This is an exchange from 2004, before the elections. Aside from some slight edits for clarity (to the intro only) this is exactly as is ran on my now-discontinued Soundsdujour web site.*

I'm taking a short break from my "radio" production ... maybe only a week. A number of things are bugging me but a certain drama incident over the weekend pushed it over the edge for me.
Apparently, Dr. Blogstein (another BTR host) and I are in some sort of conspiracy to hurt other shows. I'd tell you who the accuser is, but she's embarrassed herself publicly enough as is, and frankly I don't want to give her and her drippy… Continue
I think they have Stockholm Syndrome now!! Check it out!
OK, I won't lie to you, I think this is pretty cool. But since I'm a bit "nihilistic" (gee, tell me what you REALLY think, BTR!!), I'll let you in on a few things:
I must really BE dangerous, judging by the 50 disclaimers here... you're smart enough to see those yourself (start with the hea… Continue

I just quit smoking (again), so pardon me if I'm a bit hyper. The second day is pretty hard usually... but it did bring to mind a metaphor concerning the new "star" of the right: Bobby Jindal.
He's the governor who's REJECTING the stimulus!! An amazing show of COURAGE and PRINCIPLE from the right huh???
Is it just me or are the Republicans embracing a defeatist agenda? They "won" the last round, if by winning you mean getting the most coverage of silly talking points and grandstanding on the stimulus bill, in the so-called "liberal" media. The media had all but marginalized the most popular new President in decades to failure, while Obama slowly and surely GOT IT DONE. This editorial covers some of that.
Thailand Nite Life!

There are tourists from every country we know. Its packed with people from everywhere and we had a great time. This is a visit for someone who wants to grow and change. Thailand is very i… Continue

I stayed up way too late last night, after learning about the plane crash in my hometown, Buffalo, NY. You see, my dad and one of my sisters live roughly 8 miles from the crash site, right near the airport. But I wasn't kept awake by this. In fact, I only discovered this nugget on Google maps... have you seen this? It lets you "walk" through whole neighborhoods, in 360 degree photos of any address (some areas aren't "done" yet)!! So what was I doing? "Walking around my old "hoods"!! Check it out… Continue

Take a moment and read, or at least scan, this article. What's wrong with this picture?
The blame for this chunky (and sometimes smooth) mess rests squarely on deregulation: the budget-cuts to FDA type (thanks to Bush's 8-year project to defund regulatory agencies responsible for things like food and mining safety, and his appointment of these industries' foxes to watch the h… Continue

You may have read my earlier post about our radio edition being the number one rated show on BTR in the politics progressive category. But what does that really mean?
As of this writing, the Theresa Pfarr/DJ Minty Fresh interview show has received 418 "listens" and had 47 live "listeners." Not bad, but consider what these numbers actually mean:
1) Everything Counts (In Large Amounts): With apologies to Depeche Mode, it's true! EVERY time anyone on the internet… Continue

I apologize, but here is another post designed to HELP conservatives. If you've been listening to the right lately, there's been a shift. No, I don't mean the obvious "we're a bunch of sore losers" stuff, but rather that they are beginning to lie more.
I know you are thinking: "they ALWAYS lie!" Sure. But usually the lies at least have some flimsy backup in a half-truth or carefully cherry-picked poll. Now they don't seem to care, presumably because their base will just go along with it.
